AUCKLAND WAREHOUSE MANAGER

FULL TIME | Auckland

Flock Events is New Zealand’s largest luxury event furniture hire company, delivering beautifully curated furniture and event solutions for weddings, corporate events, festivals and private functions across the country.

At the heart of our Auckland operation is our warehouse, where our furniture is stored, maintained, prepared and dispatched for thousands of events each year.

We're looking for someone to take ownership of the day-to-day warehouse operation and lead the team responsible for making it all happen.

The Role

The Warehouse Operations Manager is the hands-on leader of our Auckland warehouse and delivery team, based on the warehouse floor and working alongside the team every day.

You'll lead the daily flow of the warehouse, making sure the team knows what needs to happen, jobs are being prepared correctly, furniture is hire-ready and the warehouse is organised and ready for what's coming next.

A big part of your role is looking ahead. While you're leading today's operation, you'll always have an eye on the next two weeks spotting stock, maintenance, staffing or equipment issues early and making sure they're dealt with before they impact a job.

You'll set the standard for how the warehouse operates, from team culture and training through to furniture presentation, efficiency and accountability.

This is a role for someone who leads from the floor, visible, practical, proactive and willing to get stuck in alongside their team.

What you’ll own

Warehouse Operations

  • Lead the day-to-day running of the Auckland warehouse

  • Keep the warehouse organised, safe and operationally ready

  • Look at least two weeks ahead to ensure stock, people and equipment are prepared

  • Ensure jobs are picked, checked and ready to leave on time

  • Identify operational risks early and, wherever possible, bring solutions alongside problems

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Lead our Team Leads, Delivery Leads, Repairs & Maintenance Crew and Casual Crew

  • Create a positive, professional and accountable warehouse culture

  • Set clear expectations and lead by example

  • Recognise great work and address performance issues early

  • Make sure the team feels supported while maintaining high standards

Training & Development

  • Train and develop Team Leads, Delivery Leads and Casual Crew

  • Coach team members and build capability within the warehouse

  • Ensure our Best Practice Delivery standards are understood and consistently followed

  • Help identify and develop future leaders within the team

Stock, Quality & Maintenance

  • Ensure only clean, complete and hire-ready furniture leaves the warehouse

  • Keep on top of ongoing stock repairs and preventative maintenance

  • Coordinate priorities with the Repairs & Maintenance Crew

  • Ensure damaged stock is identified, recorded and actioned

  • Maintain Flock's standards for furniture presentation and quality

Event Delivery

  • Lead key installations and major client deliveries

  • Support Team Leads on site when required

  • Ensure crews work safely, professionally and efficiently

  • Champion the Flock standard and ensure clients receive an exceptional experience

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse systems and workflows

  • Look for ways to make the team safer, faster and more efficient

  • Maintain a strong communication loop with the leadership team

  • Escalate issues early and recommend practical solutions

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience leading teams in warehousing, logistics, events, transport, construction or another fast-moving operational environment

  • A confident people leader – you set expectations, support your team and address issues when needed

  • Highly organised with the ability to think ahead rather than constantly react

  • A practical problem solver who looks for solutions, not just problems

  • Comfortable making day-to-day decisions and taking ownership

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards

  • Calm when priorities change or things don't go to plan

  • Willing to get stuck in, you lead from the floor, not from behind a desk

  • Someone who genuinely enjoys developing people and building a strong team culture

REQUIREMENTS

  • Full New Zealand Driver Licence & ability to drive manual

  • Experience leading or supervising operational teams

  • Comfortable with the physical requirements of a warehouse and event environment

  • Ability to work flexible hours and weekends when required during peak periods

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • Confidence using operational systems and technology

Class 2 license is preferable but Flock would be willing to provide one for the right candidate. Experience in event or equipment hire would be advantageous, but isn't essential.

What we offer

  • A genuine leadership role with ownership of the day-to-day Auckland warehouse operation

  • The opportunity to build and develop a high-performing warehouse and delivery team

  • The chance to improve systems, processes and the way we work

  • Be part of a fast-growing, nationally recognised event brand

  • A fast-paced team that likes to move quickly, make decisions and back people who take initiative

  • Work with a team that is passionate (we give a Flock)

What success looks like

  • A warehouse people enjoy working in

  • Well-trained and confident Team Leads and Delivery Leads

  • Casual crew who understand and consistently deliver the Flock standard

  • Jobs leaving the warehouse complete, checked and ready to go

  • Stock maintenance and repairs staying under control rather than becoming last-minute problems

  • An organised warehouse that is looking ahead rather than constantly reacting

  • Strong communication between the warehouse and ops team

  • Excellent feedback from our clients

  • Problems being identified early with solutions already being considered

This role will suit someone who leads from the front, develops great people and takes pride in running an exceptional operation.
