Auckland Warehouse Maintenance Tech

FULL TIME | Onehunga, Auckland

Flock Events is New Zealand’s largest luxury event furniture hire company, supplying beautifully curated furniture for weddings, corporate events, festivals and private functions across the country.

With a large and constantly moving furniture collection, keeping our stock looking exceptional is a huge part of what we do…That's where you come in.

The Role

We're looking for a Warehouse Maintenance Technician to take ownership of the ongoing repairs and maintenance of our Auckland furniture collection. Informally, we're looking for a bit of a repair wizard.

Someone who can look at a damaged piece of furniture, work out what's gone wrong and creatively figure out the best way to repair it whether that's fixing hardware, touching up timber, matching a paint finish, repairing upholstery or finding another practical solution.

You'll work across the warehouse floor, identifying what needs attention, prioritising repairs and making sure furniture gets back into hire-ready condition before it's needed for its next event.

You'll have plenty of autonomy to manage your workload and repair queue, while working closely with our Warehouse Operations Lead and National Maintenance Manager.

What You’ll own

Repairs & Maintenance

  • Assess damaged or worn furniture and determine the best repair solution

  • Complete furniture repairs, touch-ups and preventative maintenance

  • Work across timber, paint finishes, hardware, upholstery and other materials

  • Keep on top of the repair queue so maintenance doesn't become a last-minute problem

  • Identify recurring issues and recommend better repair or maintenance solutions where possible

Quality Control

  • Make sure repaired furniture meets the Flock standard before returning to circulation

  • Identify damaged stock as it moves through the warehouse

  • Maintain high standards of furniture presentation and finish

  • Help ensure only clean, complete and hire-ready furniture leaves the warehouse

Warehouse & Event Support

  • Work alongside the wider warehouse team when required

  • Assist with moving furniture and loading vehicles

  • Occasionally support event deliveries, installations and pack-downs where needed

  • Help keep the workshop and maintenance areas organised and safe

What We’re Looking For

You don't necessarily need one particular trade qualification. We're looking for someone who is practical, creative and exceptionally good with their hands.

You might come from a background in:

  • Carpentry or building

  • Cabinetmaking or bench joinery

  • Handyman or property maintenance

  • Upholstery

  • Welding or fabrication

  • Signwriting, painting or finishing

  • Furniture restoration

  • Or another practical trade where you've learnt how to fix things properly

Most importantly, you're someone who:

  • Can look at a problem and figure out how to fix it

  • Has an exceptional eye for detail

  • Takes pride in the quality of their workmanship

  • Is organised and able to manage their own workload

  • Doesn't need someone constantly telling them what to do next

  • Is comfortable working in a busy warehouse environment

  • Looks after tools, equipment and their workspace

  • Is happy to get stuck in and help the wider team when needed

WHat we offer

  • Real ownership of the maintenance function within our Auckland warehouse

  • Plenty of autonomy and trust to manage your own workload

  • A huge variety of furniture, materials and repair challenges – you won't be fixing the same thing every day

  • Support and training from our wider crew

  • The opportunity to expand your skills across furniture repair and restoration

  • Be part of a growing, nationally recognised event brand

  • A fast-paced team that backs people who take initiative and get stuck in

  • Work with a team that is passionate (we give a Flock)

What success looks like

  • Furniture is repaired properly and returned to circulation quickly

  • The repair queue is organised and under control

  • Ongoing stock maintenance is happening proactively

  • Damaged furniture is identified before it reaches a client

  • Our furniture consistently leaves the warehouse looking exceptional

  • The wider warehouse team knows what's being repaired, what's ready and what needs attention

  • You take genuine pride in keeping the Flock collection looking its best

If you're the kind of person who sees something broken and immediately starts thinking “I can fix that”, we'd love to hear from you.

We review applications as they come in, so if this sounds like you, apply now.
